those two weeks were very busy. The kids had a lot to learn because there is two weeks left for their exam. I had to teach them the shapes, the colors and the numbers. They enjoyed the shapes and the colors lesson a lot and they worked really hard to memorize the spelling of the numbers. Because the kids have been working so hard, This week we wanted to reward them. Therefore we prepared games for the kids on the last class before the weekend and they enjoyed it. Next week they will become exited about studying. About our weekend, we have been to an orphanage in Bogor, we played with the kids, had fun and they wanted us to visit again !

week 2
This week has been more organize than last week. We got to know the area better and divided our work and students. I have been in charged for teaching the younger kids who have no basics of English. The most challenging thing is that they do not speak my language, so I have to draw, act, and sometimes make a fool of myself so that I can make them understand what I mean. Seems that they like it! the good thing it works.
I have no problem doing that because they are so keen to learn and they are very polite. I just love them cant wait to see them next week.

my first week in Indonesia
on the 7th of February two students from Bahrain Polytechnic and I have been traveling to Indonesia for the Hope World project. we will be teaching poor local kids English basics. we took the plain from Bahrain to Abudabhi and then from Abudahbi to Jakarta.during this time we - the three students- got to know each other. Hassan and Mariam are very friendly, outgoing and easy to talk with. as it is the first time we meet although we have been studying in the same university for three years. we became good friends since day one. Hassan is typical Bahraini he took care of us "the girls" during the flight and did not leave us till he made sure that everything is going well with us. So, after a long flight that took almost 12 hours and a long journey on the bus from Jakarta air port to the host family house. we finally got there. My first impression about Jakarta was, a greener, rainier, and bigger Manama.. Everything just seemed very familiar starting from the buildings to the crazy drivers. So, the host family is so beautiful. and the family has been very nice to us -Myself and Mariam- our room was cozy and the most important it had air conditioner because the weather here is really hot and humid. the next day just came very quickly and although we had a little issues with the transportation especially the train. but once we met the kids. everything was worth it. they have amazing characters and are very keen to learn. I loved them from day one. I can't wait to get to know them more !
